I uncovered my passion for music early on when, as a young child, I would hear my dad play "Satin Doll" over and over on an old Detroit upright. When I got older, hearing artists such as Stevie Wonder, Prince, Public Enemy, and Van Halen set my passion for music in stone. I would never be the same. I set out to play music. It was my only true passion.
After numerous tours and recordings and a failed Motown dream deal, I completed graduate school, became a school psychologist, and I built a brewery and live music venue. I never stopped writing and playing. I needed musical connection. Turns out it would be the thing that saved my life.
I find inspiration all around me. Recently, I found inspiration when I lost my life's work and was on the verge of being homeless. It was a whole musical community that came together to help me. The connection of music and the connection with people you play with is something that can never be taken for granted. In honor of this, I try to make my music representative of myself and my generation, specifically, the influences of my life. Sound Under Influence.
